The University of Uyo Alumni Association has announced Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for its Alumni Homecoming, an event designed to strengthen alumni relationships, promote institutional development and mobilise support for the University.
The event, scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. at the 1,000-capacity TETFund Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, University of Uyo, Uyo, will feature games, a dinner, fundraising and an awards ceremony.
With the theme, “Bridging Generations: Leveraging Alumni Networks and Innovation for Sustainable Institutional Development,” the homecoming will bring together graduates of the University across different generations to renew their bonds with their alma mater, celebrate shared achievements and explore opportunities for collective contributions to the institution’s growth.
The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON). His presentation is expected to highlight the importance of alumni networks, innovation and intergenerational collaboration in building sustainable institutions.
The fundraising component of the programme will provide an opportunity for alumni and other stakeholders to contribute to the continued development of the University, while the awards ceremony will recognise distinguished contributions and achievements within the alumni community.
The homecoming also seeks to strengthen the relationship between the University and its graduates, encouraging them to remain actively involved in the institution’s development through mentorship, networking, partnerships and other forms of support.
The programme reflects the growing importance of alumni associations as strategic partners in higher education, particularly in mobilising expertise, resources and professional networks to complement institutional development efforts.
The University of Uyo Alumni Association is led by its International President, Ekerete Adiaiduo, while Mr. Fioyo Umoren serves as Secretary and Surv. Akanimo Udom as Director of Organisation.
The association has invited alumni and other stakeholders to participate in the homecoming, which is expected to provide a platform for reconnection, celebration, recognition and renewed commitment to the advancement of the University of Uyo.
The event promises to be more than a reunion; it is an opportunity for generations of Tuskers to come together, strengthen their shared identity and translate alumni solidarity into meaningful contributions to the future of their alma mater.
